About Our Lead Pastor, Mark Cox

Mark Cox is the Lead Pastor at Central Church. He and his family moved to Green Bay in October 2006 with the desire to have a positive influence on Central and the greater Green Bay area. Under his leadership, Central has taken a prominent role in reaching various segments of the community with hugely successful outreach projects, such as Green Bay Convoy of Hope and the Family Zone – July 4th Outreach, as well as other various outreach projects.

Mark is happiest when he is around people, just having fun and being himself. His relaxed preaching style reflects that as he teaches truth from the Bible while keeping it fun and relevant to everyday life. Mark is an ordained minister through the Assemblies of God with over 14 years of ministry experience. He has been a student ministries pastor and worship pastor in both Missouri and Illinois prior to moving to Green Bay. Mark and his wife, Tricia, live in Green Bay with their two children Jonathan and Lauren.

What do you do at Central Church?
I am the Lead Pastor at Central. My responsibility is to oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure that we stay focused on our vision.  Oh… and I also preach almost every Sunday!

Hometown?
St. Louis, Missouri—Go Cards!

Favorite things to do?
Eating out with my family, playing golf, watching NASCAR, hanging out with friends.

What makes you laugh?
Funny home video shows, and the questions my kids ask me… hilarious! Actually… almost everything makes me laugh!

Favorite food?
Country fried steak, mashed potatoes, corn, biscuits, and TONS of white gravy.

Top 3 movies/tv shows?

Dumb & Dumber, Remember the Titans, The Bourne Trilogy, Everybody Loves Raymond, Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, and CSI

Fatal Flaw?
Sometimes I’m funny when I really should be serious (weddings, hospitals, funerals, etc…)!

One thing most people don't know about you?
While using an electric hedge trimmer I cut my finger and had to get seven stitches—one hour before a wedding! Dumb.
